The World Avocado Organization presents: “The Wonderful World of Cooking with Avocados”
- First e-cookbook dedicated to the art of cooking with avocados launched in the UK, France and Germany
- Over 35 versatile and delicious recipes for appetizers, main courses and desserts
London, September 2017 – Thanks to their rich taste and huge versatility avocados became the UK’s and Europe’s favourite superfood. This fruit of life is the main event in many dishes in cafés, restaurants and street markets and even has restaurants dedicated solely to our love of them. For good reason: Avocados are a magical ingredient for meals and snacks alike. Fresh and creamy with a slightly nutty flavor, they are the perfect addition to salads, sandwiches, sushi, and plenty of main dishes.
To celebrate the amazing taste and versatility of the avocado, the World Avocado Organization (WAO) has gathered cooking expertise from around the world to create an e-cookbook dedicated exclusively to avocados to be published in the UK, France and Germany: “The Wonderful World of Cooking with Avocados”.
More than 35 brilliant and delicious recipes – ranging from appetisers, sandwiches, wraps and salads to main courses and desserts – help to discover new ways to love the taste of the superfruit. Renowned chefs from around the world have contributed to this one-of-a-kind e-cookbook with their expertise and knowledge on how to create the most delicious tuna salad avocado toast or savor friends with a mouth-watering ceviche salad with an exquisite leche-de-tigre dressing. In addition to the beautifully illustrated recipes, the e-cookbook provides readers with useful tips and tricks how to store, peel and cut avocados.
Avocado – the superfood to pimp up any meal
Thanks to producers around the world, avocados can be enjoyed all year long which is why “The Wonderful World of Cooking with Avocado” includes recipes for every season. Lime-infused prawns or smoked salmon-topped crunchy salads are a fresh boost of energy during hot summer days, while a delicious cream of avocado and artichoke soup or a creamed chicken with avocado-rice salad warms the soul on a cold winter day.
Nutritious and delicious with an abundance of health benefits
Not only is this superfruit delicious and easy to prepare, avocados also have an abundance of health benefits thanks to their nutritional value. They contain an astonishingly high number of different vitamins and minerals. In addition, avocados are rich in nutritionally “good fats” (mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids) that can help to maintain a normal blood cholesterol level, if they replace saturated fats as part of a balanced diet.
“With our first avocado-themed e-cookbook in the UK, France and Germany, we want to bring this nutritious and tasty fruit to every table. We created delicious recipes for every time of the day and season to help savor avocados all day long and all year long,” says Xavier Equihua, CEO of the WAO.
The WAO was established in 2016 and represents some of the world’s largest avocado producers, exporters and importers, including Mexico, Peru, South Africa and the United States of America. The organization’s primary purpose is to promote and increase the consumption, awareness and value of avocados around the world. The WAO is pioneering the marketing of avocados in Europe by launching a major marketing and retail initiative. This initiative is not only built on marketing efforts but also on large-scale media and influencer relations as well as state-of-the-art social media tactics.
